Events
The Chamber held another successful event in our Business After 6 series, which brings together commerce leaders from across Oro-Medonte for a networking opportunity at a local business. The most recent Business After 6 was held at Vettä Nordic Spa on Line 3 N on June 8. Attendees enjoyed delicious food prepared by the on-site culinary team, connected with other local businesses, and enjoyed the spa’s services. Thank you to everyone who attended, as well as the team at Vettä for graciously hosting us.
The next Business After 6 will be on July 18 from 6 pm onwards at Chartright Air Group at the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (76 Airport Road, off of Line 7 N). All Chamber members are welcome to attend.
The first Oro-Medonte Farmers Market of the season was a huge success! Over 45 vendors and 2000 attendees joined us on Canada Day, July 1 from 10 am to 4 pm at Chappell Farms and enjoyed shopping for a wide range of local products. The day started with an opening ceremony where local dignitaries and event organizers cut the ribbon, officially kicking off the 2023 Farmers Market season. Thank you to MPP Doug Downey, Mayor Randy Greenlaw, Errin Dickins on behalf of MP Doug Shipley, Councilors Rick Schell, Bob Young, Peter Lavoie, Lori Hutcheson, David Clarke, and John Bard, Chamber President Matt Young, and Executive Director Sylvia Stark for being there.
After Canada Day, the Farmers Market will be held every Thursday from 12 pm to 6 pm until Labour Day. This year, the Farmers Market will be held at Chappell Farms at 617 Penetanguishene Road (corner of Highway 11 and Penetanguishene Road), marking a new era for this well-known event. Moving the market to Chappell Farms will allow for more space and more attendees, and we are excited about the new chapter. To sign up as a vendor, please email [email protected]. The Farmers Market is kindly sponsored by Jade Equipment Ltd.
